I first went to Robben Island at the age of 9 (an exciting classroom outing which I remember very little of). Doing it all again at this age, is much more meaningful and enriching. To hear the struggles and challenges faced by an array of passionate, unbreakable and strong willed people who believed that change would come, is inspiring. We face many challenges in the world today and by applying some of the simple lessons learnt based on our past, we can make the world a better place and it can start with me and you. In 13 days time we celebrate the “Nelson Mandela International Day – a call to action to make the world a better place, one small step at a time.” Let’s share Mandela’s vision, I am sure going to try.
